Hi, my name is Steve Watson and my wife Valerie and I have owned and run South West Scaffolding since September 2000. Neither of us had any experience running a scaffolding company back then. At the start it was all a bit scary, with a very steep learning curve and more than once we asked ourselves if we were mad.
I had worked for many years as an engineer in the aircraft industry and Valerie had run her own small business. We combined the knowledge and skills I had gained in system design, programme management, logistics and health and safety with Valerie’s office skills and soon started making a steady stream of improvements.
Our philosophy has always been very simple; everything we do is aimed at maximising customer satisfaction. Over the years we have invested heavily in new equipment and have slowly built a great team of friendly, qualified and very experienced scaffolders.
