Who we are

South West Scaffolding Limited (“we”, “us”) is a company registered in England and Wales, company number 05037010. Our registered office is Unit 6a Webbers Way, Dartington, Totnes, Devon, TQ9 6JY.

What we collect, and why

• Enquiry form. Your name, email address, telephone number (if you give one), whether you are enquiring as an individual or a company, and your message. We use this to reply to you, provide quotes and arrange work. We rely on taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and on our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.
• Technical details sent with the form. The time of your submission and your IP address, which help us deal with spam and misuse. We rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the website and our systems secure.
• Emails and phone calls. Whatever you choose to tell us when you contact us directly.
• Job applications. If you apply for a vacancy by email or phone, the details you give us (for example your experience, qualifications and scaffold tickets). We use these to assess your suitability. We rely on taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and on our legitimate interest in recruiting.
• Website visits. Our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) so that the site can be delivered and kept secure. We do not use analytics or advertising trackers on this website.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the business, and who may only use it on our instructions:

• our website host, Vercel;
• Make.com, the automation service that receives enquiry-form submissions and passes them on to us;
• our email and IT provider, Microsoft.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect our rights, property or safety.

Transfers outside the UK

Some of these providers operate outside the UK. Where your information is transferred, we make sure the safeguards required by UK data protection law are in place.

How long we keep it

We keep your information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above. Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to deal with them and to keep a reasonable record of our dealings with you. Job applications are kept while the vacancy is open and for a short time afterwards, unless you ask us to keep your details on file for future roles. We then delete or anonymise it.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
• ask us to correct anything that is wrong or incomplete;
• ask us to delete your information, or to restrict how we use it;
• object to our use of your information where we rely on legitimate interests;
• ask for your information in a portable format, where this applies.

To use any of these rights, contact us using the details above. We will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
